Aarjun completed his Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and Graduate Diploma in Dentistry at Griffith University in 2016. After graduation, he spent a year on the Gold Coast, working in multiple practices, including a specialist orthodontic clinic. He later moved to Kingaroy, where he further developed his knowledge and skills in a more demanding professional environment.
In 2018, Aarjun ventured out to start his own practice in Gympie, dedicating himself to its growth and enhancing his expertise. Shortly thereafter, he purchased another practice in Hervey Bay, where he currently works. Aarjun has also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Implants from The Implant Institute. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Queensland while continuing to care for his dental patients on a part-time basis.
Aarjun has undertaken extensive postgraduate training in various areas, including:
Cerec © (CAD-CAM technology for same-day tooth reconstruction)
He takes pride in all aspects of dentistry, particularly in providing relief from pain, reconstructing and replacing worn or broken teeth, and helping patients overcome preventable dental diseases.
As a local resident of Hervey Bay, Aarjun is known for his gentle and caring approach to dentistry. He actively volunteers his dental expertise to underserved communities, including regular visits to Cherbourg in Northwest Queensland. His commitment extends beyond fixing teeth; he strives to deliver comprehensive care tailored to each patient’s goals, values, and budget, with a focus on improving overall well-being.
In his spare time, Aarjun enjoys mountain biking, taking long walks on the beautiful beaches with his dog, and driving along the scenic routes of the Fraser Coast.
Esther was born in Sydney but grew up in Brisbane so considers herself a Proud Queenslander. She worked as a dentist in Icy Stanthorpe before relocating to Sunny Hervey Bay. She is a city girl who has fallen in love with regional living. She has been working in the bay area since 2019 and has established herself as the local dentist who is great with kids and people with fear of the dentist. Her favourite part of dentistry is helping create life changing smile transformations and helping people trust the dentist again. Many of her patients, especially the little ones, look forward to visiting the dentist thanks to Esther’s professional, compassionate and gentle dentistry. She in turn has enjoyed serving the community, building beautiful relationships with her patients and watching her kid patients grow up!
Esther is a doting mum of a beautiful baby boy so she has no spare time for hobbies at the moment but is loving mum life and exploring the world with her son.
Heidi was born in Sydney but calls the Sunshine State home, as she has spent most of her life in Sunny Queensland. She understands that coming to the dentist might not be a trip many people look forward to, and so she aims to make people feel welcome and safe by taking time to listen to their concerns and communicating with them. Heidi values the importance of prevention so that people can enjoy their lives without the interruption of dental pain. However, she also understands that taking care of your teeth can be difficult and she will be there to help and look after you with gentle, quality dental care.
She finds it most rewarding when she sees her patients who feared the dentist leave the clinic with a smile on their face, feeling relaxed and happy to visit the dental clinic again.
Heidi has a passion for volunteering and has spent alot of her time helping communities who are not able to access healthcare. Heidi loves being at Viva Family Dental because it really is a family atmosphere and we are all here to look after you with quality dental care.
Dr PJ Un is a General Dentist who speaks Malay and Mandarin (as well as English).
Dr PJ was born and raised in Malaysia where he spent most of his childhood days. He later on pursued a career in dentistry in New Zealand where he graduated from the prestigious University of Otago.
The best thing he loves about being a dentist is meeting people and helping them achieve good knowledge of their own teeth and oral health. He takes time to guide them and give them simple tips that can help in their everyday routine. It brings him joy to see patients be able to maintain good oral care at home.
Dr PJ believes in giving back by providing better care and treatment to his community. He used to do charity work in New Zealand and Sydney as a volunteer.
